This is the first large-scale General Contract Project that AE undertakes within the system of GAC Honda. This project successfully made through with renovation without suspending the production, realized a leap in the annual output from 120,000 to 240,000 vehicles in 2020 and achieved multiple technological innovations. It acts as a model among GAC Group's environment-friendly, energy-saving, intelligent and efficient plant projects. The undertaking and implementation of this project can help push forward AE's exploitation of the domestic and overseas markets of Japanese vehicles.
AE puts the idea of creating efficient and lean vehicles with intelligent and advanced technologies to save energy and protect the environment into the design of its products. In the past years, AE has been making breakthroughs in terms of innovation, such as establishing a Painting and production line for SAIC, which achieved annual production of up to 1.7 million vehicles. For several times, AE was granted the title "the Best Supplier". All these achievements contribute to the vast cooperation opportunities between AE and SAIC as well as continuing the win-win strategic cooperation for both parties.
This project serves as a model project in China-Thailand cooperation during the state's Belt and Road Initiative. It is also the first overseas Painting and production line for passenger cars of SAIC, with an annual output of 135,000 vehicles (including Phase II). The main products are ZS11, SK82 (LDV pickup truck) and other own vehicle types of SAIC. This is the first production line to adopt new process devices, including swing rod bearing, pre-treatment electrophoresis chamber structured by thin plate + outer framework, all-straight oven, air conditioning air supply and exhaust system that requires low energy consumption and adapts to local climate, and primer airborne friction conveying equipment. This project was constructed in a rapid and efficient way and its products are sold to ASEAN countries. It won the title of "the Best Supplier" granted by SAIC in 2018.
The five major automobile plants of BAIC, respectively in Guangzhou, Beijing, Zhenjiang, Changhe and Zhuzhou, are capable of annually producing 1.15 million sedans, passenger cars, off-road vehicles, SUV and other types of self-owned vehicle brands of BAIC. This project accomplished the overall domestic strategic layout for the vehicles of BAIC's self-owned brands and established an all-round platform for BAIC's outbound joint venture cooperation.
