Polestar P514 Welding Project
Polestar is a high-performance road car brand subordinate to Volvo Car Group. Polestar 1 is a high-performance hybrid-power racing car type of this brand that is put into mass production in China.
The lower structure of Polestar 1 is steel body while the upper structure is carbon fiber composite material. The car body adopts carbon fiber, reducing the weight by 230kg, increasing the torsional rigidity of car body by 45%, largely lowering the center of gravity of the car and improving the car's operability. This project includes flexible manual spot welding, flexible robot spot welding, flexible robot stud welding, flexible robot gluing, two-component gluing, carbon fiber bonding and curing process and passed the final acceptance in January 2020.
