AEC Successfully Wins Bid for Industrial Intelligent Manufacturing Project of THACO Railway in Vietnam


Recently, Automotive Engineering Corporation (AEC) won the bid for the project of THACO Railway Industry and Multi-Function Mechanical Comprehensive Liability Company in Vietnam, and will supply multiple sets of high-end CNC sheet metal processing equipment, including the JCSL1-8×2050 CNC uncoiling, slitting, rewinding, and cross-cutting composite line, and the JCL4-14×2050 CNC uncoiling, leveling, and cross-cutting line. This cooperation marks that AEC's strength in high-end sheet metal processing equipment has gained recognition from the Southeast Asian market, achieving another major breakthrough for the Company in this regional market.

 

 

The project is located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with a total floor area of approximately 280,000 m². Upon completion, the project will become Vietnam's first benchmark base for localized intelligent manufacturing of railway equipment, integrating rail vehicle final assembly, tunnel boring machine (TBM) and tunnel equipment manufacturing, as well as sleeper and track component production. According to the project plan, this base will help enhance Vietnam's autonomous production capacity in the railway equipment sector and provide important support for its infrastructure construction.

 

The two high-end uncoiling production lines provided by AEC will undertake core tasks of precision sheet metal processing for key steel structural components such as railway vehicle bodies, tunnel boring machine shells, and tunnel segment molds. In response to the project's requirements for customized, high-precision processing, AEC has developed a tailored combination solution of "precision slitting for thin plates + high-precision cut-to-length shearing for medium and thick plates," fully adapting to sheet metal processing requirements of various specifications and precision levels. The two production lines have a total installed capacity of nearly 2,000 kW, both adopting Siemens PLC centralized control, DC speed regulation drive, and fully digital detection technology. They feature advanced processes and stable performance, representing the high-end manufacturing level of domestic sheet metal processing equipment, and providing solid technical support for high-quality production of the project.

 

This cooperation is a vivid practice of AEC empowering the localization and intelligent upgrading of Vietnam's railway equipment industry with its technology. Through customized high-end sheet metal processing solutions, AEC will help its customer build an intelligent manufacturing base for railway equipment in Vietnam, and continue to serve global customers with core technologies and customized solutions.
